After completing her bachelor’s of science in Baking and Pastry Arts at Johnson & Wales University in Rhode Island, Sandra traveled to Galway Ireland to improve her skills in breakfast pastries and breads. After 18 months of working and lots of beer, she returned to the states to continue her adventure.
Securing a job opening at the Conrad Indianapolis in the pastry kitchen, she worked her way up through the ranks to pastry chef. Her next step in her career was moving to Chicago to work at The Peninsula Hotel where she revamped the breakfast pastry and bread program. Working in all five outlets and the banquet kitchen at the Peninsula gave her the confidence and skills to return to her home town and open Dreams to Reality Cakes.
In the past six years Sandra and her team have created many amazing cakes that are not only beautiful, but tasty too! Two years into our journey with Dreams to Reality, Sandra had the opportunity to purchase Aroma Coffee Shop. Learning a new craft has been a crazy ride to keep both businesses thriving, but we can’t wait to add our third location In the fall!
